Halvy
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Halvy mobile app (provided by Amboyance Inc.) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Halvy app specifically; our company website has its own privacy policy.
Information we collect
Account info: your email address and display name when you sign up (via email, Apple, or Google).
Household & expense data: the households, expenses, splits, settlements, notes, optional income shares, and receipt photos you add.
Device & usage: a push-notification token if you enable reminders, and basic, privacy-respecting analytics to improve the app. Halvy has no ads and uses no advertising trackers.
How we use it
To provide and sync the service across your devices and household members, calculate balances, send reminders you opt into, process Pro purchases, and keep the app secure and reliable.
Sharing within a household
Data you add to a household is visible to its members. Your exact income is never shown to other members, only a derived split percentage, and only if you choose income-based splitting.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to operate Halvy: Amazon Web Services (hosting, database, file storage), Amazon Cognito (sign-in), Apple and Google (Sign in with Apple / Google), and RevenueCat (purchases and subscriptions). They process data only to provide their service to us.
Where your data is processed
Halvy is operated by Amboyance Inc. in Ontario, Canada. Our infrastructure provider (Amazon Web Services) stores and processes data in the United States. By using Halvy you consent to your information being processed in Canada and the United States, which may have data-protection laws different from those in your country.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can export your data or permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Data & privacy. Deleting your account removes your personal data and household membership.
Your rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data. The in-app export and delete tools cover the common cases; contact us for anything else.
Children
Halvy is not directed to children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes
We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
